HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health will allocate 185,000 doses of 5-in-1 vaccine to 49 provinces and cities this month.
The ministry said the 185,000 doses of the 5-in-1 vaccine are donated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to serve the expanded immunisation for Vietnamese children.
Previously, 72,300 doses of 5-in-1 vaccine, funded by domestic donors, were also provided to 14 northern mountainous provinces to deploy vaccinations this month.
So, all 63 provinces and cities of the country will deploy 5-in-1 vaccination for children this month and in September.
On July 27, WHO and UNICEF said the 185,000 doses of 5-in-1 vaccine arrived in Việt Nam.
The 5-in-1 vaccine is used to immunise children from 2 months to under 18 months of age, who have not been vaccinated against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and haemophilus influenza type b (Hib).
The vaccine priority is given to children with the youngest month of age who have not received the first dose of the vaccine, then the older children who have not received the first dose. — VNS
