HẢI PHÒNG — A British tourist who claimed she had been sexually assaulted on a cruise ship in Ha Long Bay has told police she no longer wants to press charges.
The 19-year-old had claimed she was attacked on Saturday evening by a 34-year-old member of staff on the vessel.
Police immediately launched an investigation following the alleged incident on board the ship which is registered Era HP-4888.
But on Sunday, the tourist gave a letter to police saying she was intoxicated at the time of the alleged assault and had difficulties remembering what actually happened.
She also told authorities she didn’t want to be examined and asked them not to pursue the matter any further. — VNS
