BÌNH DƯƠNG — A company director in the southern province of Bình Dương has been charged with the murder of an accountant who worked for him.

Lý Thị Mai, 30, who was pregnant at the time, was stabbed to death in the bathroom of Vinh Nhuận Trading Co Ltd, on March 29, 2023, with a bloody knife still at the scene.

The company director, 47-year-old Yang Zhong Wu, from China, was arrested the following day in Gia Lai Province’s Pleiku City. The truck he had been driving was abandoned in a rubber forest in Tân Uyên Town.

Investigations show that the two had started their conflicts after Wu had discovered the company's stock had gone missing from the company’s warehouse and Mai had set up another company, under the same name. — VNS
