Việt Nam always attaches importance to promoting the Việt Nam – China cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership.

Congratulating Houngbo for becoming the 11th Director-General of the ILO, Ambassador Mai briefed the ILO leader on Việt Nam’s efforts to join ILO conventions and implement projects and programmes on labour management and decent work.

The Ministry of Construction will focus on improving legal documents related to housing, especially social housing, to remove obstacles and create favourable conditions to increase the supply of affordable homes.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lê Thị Thu Hằng, said Việt Nam's persistent stance is protecting the living environment and people's health as the top priorities and not pursuing economic growth at the expense of the environment. 

"The Vietnamese Government always pays great attention to ensuring national security and it is considered an essential task in the industrialisation and modernisation of the country," spokesperson Hằng said.

The visit is at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techno Hun Sen, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.

Viet Nam will continue to actively engage in UN peacekeeping operations and is willing to cooperate with UN member states in this important area, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, has affirmed.
