13th National Party Congress concludes second working day

The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Việt Nam concluded its second official working day Wednesday, with the entire day dedicated to deliberating key Congress documents, according to a press announcement.

HÀ NỘI — The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Việt Nam concluded its second official working day Wednesday, with the entire day dedicated to deliberating key Congress documents, according to a press announcement.

In the morning, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc chaired the discussions on behalf of the Presidium.

Twelve representatives of Party delegations of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front, the army, the police, the Supreme People’s Court, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and Training, the administrations of Hà Nội City, HCM City, Bắc Giang Province, and Lâm Đồng Province, and the Party Central Committee's Mass Mobilisation Commission delivered their presentations.

In the afternoon, Phạm Minh Chính, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's Organisation Commission, chaired the discussions.

In the session, 11 representatives of Party delegations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the State Bank of Việt Nam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Party Central Committee’s Central Inspection Commission, the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour, the Việt Nam Women’s Union, and the administration of Đồng Tháp Province gave presentations.

The discussion was described as “lively, straightforward, and democratic,” in the announcement.

Tomorrow, delegates will continue to discuss documents and hear the 12th tenure Party Central Committee’s report on personnel matters for the 13th tenure. — VNS
