Hà Nội woman detained for spreading anti-State propaganda

Hà Nội and HCM City police today arrested and temporary detained Phạm Thị Đoan Trang in HCM City’s District 3 for “spreading propaganda against the State of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam”.

HÀ NỘI - Hà Nội and HCM City police today arrested and temporary detained Phạm Thị Đoan Trang in HCM City’s District 3 for “spreading propaganda against the State of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam”.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, Hà Nội police today launched criminal proceedings against Trang, 42, whose registered residence is in Đống Đa District, Hà Nội, for “anti-State propaganda“ as stipulated in Article 88 of the 1999 Criminal Code and “creating, storing, spreading and disseminating information, documents, materials and items for the purpose of opposing the State of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam”, in line with Article 117 of the 2015 Criminal Code.

The Hà Nội People’s Procuracy had approved the decision of Hà Nội police.

The case is under further investigation. VNS
