HÀ NỘI — The Government Office launched the National Reporting Platform, the Centre for Information and Directions from the Government, and the 1,000th online public service on the National Public Service Portal yesterday.

Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc attended the online and offline event, along with officials from 63 cities and provinces nationwide.

The move aims to perfect the operation of State administrative agencies and serve citizens.

According to Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tiến Dũng, the National Reporting Platform and the Centre for Information and Directions from the Government will help change the administration's working methods, from paper-based to digital-based processes.

The National Reporting Platform, which is connected with national databases, ministerial, sectoral, and local information centres, will help the PM and Government members supervise and inspect the performance of every sector, ministry and locality.

At the same time, the Government leaders can deliver direct instructions to ministries, agencies and localities via the National Reporting Platform.

At the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc had a virtual meeting with local leaders of Bình Phước, Quảng Ninh and Thừa Thiên-Huế provinces and the National Centre of operation, management, and disaster response, search, and rescue.

Minister-Chairman of the Office of the Government Mai Tiến Dũng said the launch of the platform and centre demonstrated determination in accelerating administrative reforms and working towards an e-Government.

The Government announced three more online public services on the National Public Service Portal.

The first is the 998th public service. This is for payment of compulsory social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and compulsory insurance for occupational accidents and occupational diseases.

The 999th public service is for registration of adjustments to compulsory social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and reports on labour changes.

The 1,000th public service is for the declaration and payment of registration fee and submission of automobile registration declarations.

Eight months since its inception, the portal has connected with 18 ministries and agencies, all 63 localities, and eight banks and e-wallet service providers.

Nearly 56.4 million people have accessed the portal, with more than 14 million documents synced and 260,000 processed online. The portal is estimated to help save VNĐ6.7 trillion a year.

Speaking at the ceremony, PM Phúc praised the efforts of the Government Office and related ministries, agencies and units, which have co-ordinated for the launching of the system.

He also thanked the support and contributions of international organisations such as the Embassy of Japan, the World Bank, Samsung Vietnam, information technology enterprises, and experts for their contributions in research, evaluation and selection of solutions for the establishment of the National Reporting Platform.

He said building and developing a digital government is an inevitable trend to improve the openness and transparency of the Government, to fight corruption and waste and to improve the business environment and the country’s competitiveness.

He asked localities to continue with the e-government management system and train their staff to use the systems. — VNS
