HÀ NỘI — A high-ranking delegation of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) led by its Vice Chairman Ri Su Yong on February 28 visited the Việt Nam Agriculture Science Institute in Hà Nội.
The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Lê Quốc Doanh; Vice Chairman of Hà Nội People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Sửu; and Director of the Việt Nam Agriculture Science Institute Nguyễn Hồng Sơn.
During the working session, Sơn briefed his guests on Việt Nam’s top agricultural products.
He said this is a good chance for the two sides to share information and enhance co-operation on science and technology in agriculture, towards promoting friendship in scientific research and economic development.
For his part, Ri expressed interest in Việt Nam’s farming techniques in the cultivation of crops such as rice, corn and potatoes.
He expressed his hope that Việt Nam will further support his country in developing high-yielding rice varieties.
Deputy Minister Doanh said Việt Nam looks forward to welcoming more DPRK scientists to Việt Nam for research. — VNS
