QUẢNG NINH — A high-ranking delegation of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) visited Hạ Long Bay, the World Natural Heritage Site in the northern coastal province of Quảng Ninh on Wednesday morning.
The visit is among sideline activities for the delegation during the second DRPK-US Summit and the official visit to Việt Nam in Hà Nội by Chairman of the WPK and the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un this week.
The delegation was led by Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK and head of its International Department Ri Su Yong, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK and head of its organising committee Kim Pyong Hae, and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK and head of Economic Affairs Department O Su Yong.
Quảng Ninh Province’s Party Committee Secretary Nguyễn Văn Đọc and chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Long received the delegation.
At the reception, Đọc expressed his honour to welcome the delegation to visit Hạ Long Bay. He detailed the characteristics of Quảng Ninh Province to the leaders of the Workers’ Party.
For his part, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party Ri Su Yong on behalf of the delegation thanked the officials for their warm welcome to Quảng Ninh. — VNS
