Việt Nam welcomes the second US-Democratic People’s Republic of Korea summit and strongly supports dialogue to maintain peace, security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam welcomes the second US-Democratic People’s Republic of Korea summit and strongly supports dialogue to maintain peace, security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

So said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lê Thị Thu Hằng on Wednesday on the summit planned for February 27 and 28 in Việt Nam.

She was replying to a question for Việt Nam’s comment on US President Donald Trump’s remarks in his latest State of the Union address on the upcoming summit.
Việt Nam stands ready to actively contribute to and cooperate with relevant sides to ensure the success of the second US-DPRK summit, thus helping achieve the above-mentioned goal, the official concluded. — VNS
