HÀ NỘI — President Trần Đại Quang and his spouse hosted the official welcome ceremony for the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s President Moon Jae-in and his spouse in Hà Nội today.
The Vietnamese officials at the welcome ceremony included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh, Chairman of the Presidential Office Đào Việt Trung, Minister of Industry and Trade Trần Tuấn Anh, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngọc Anh, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Đào Ngọc Dung, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyễn Vũ Tú.
After the talks following the welcome ceremony, Presidents Trần Đại Quang and Moon Jae-in witnessed the signing of some cooperation documents, including a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on sending and receiving RoK–Vietnamese workers under the employment permit scheme between the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the RoK Ministry of Employment and Labour.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the RoK Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy signed a MoU on the action programme on trade cooperation for 2018-20, and another on cooperation in supporting industry.
A MoU on cooperation in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution was inked by the Vietnamese and RoK ministries of information and communications. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport and the RoK Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport signed a MoU on cooperation in infrastructure, transport and transport technology development. The RoK Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport also signed another MoU on cooperation in urban construction and development with the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction.
Also on March 23 morning, President Trần Đại Quang and his counterpart Moon Jae-in visited the President Hồ Chí Minh relic site. Earlier the same day, the RoK leader laid a wreath and paid tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh at his mausoleum in Hà Nội.
President Moon Jae-in is paying the first-ever State visit to Việt Nam from March 22 to 24. — VNS
