HÀ NỘI – The Communist Party of the Russian Federation always attaches importance to the traditional ties with the Communist Party of Việt Nam and wants to play an active role in developing bilateral relations in investment, trade, banking-finance, and tourism.
The statement was delivered by Leonid Ivanovich Kalashnikov, member of the Presidium – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation yesterday at his meeting with Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs Nguyễn Văn Bình.
For his part, Bình said the Party and Government of Việt Nam prioritise consolidating the long-standing friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, highly speaking of the progress the two nations have made in economics and trade.
He welcomed initiatives made by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation to bolster the two countries’ cooperation in economics, trade and investment.
On Monday, Kalashnikov met with Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Affairs Hoàng Bình Quân during which the two sides discussed ways to boost the two parties’ relations in the coming years.
They agreed that the parties need to further enhance cooperation, and increase information exchange and coordination at multilateral political party forums.
On the same day, the Russian official was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng, who is also Chairman of the Việt Nam -Russia Inter-Governmental Committee for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technological Cooperation.
Dũng agreed with several proposals by the Communist Party of Russian Federation to effectively implement the Việt Nam -Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Free Trade Agreement which is expected to bring two-way trade between the two nations to US$10 billion in 2020.
During the visit, the Russian officials had a working session with officials from the State Bank of Việt Nam, seeking to step up affiliations in finance-banking. - VNS
