Deputy PM asks Utah to increase investment in Việt Nam

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh has urged businesses and educational establishments of the US State of Utah to expand investment in Việt Nam, especially in transport infrastructure, science, water resources management, sustainable agricultural development, urban planning and climate change response.

HÀ NỘI — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh has urged businesses and educational establishments of the US State of Utah to expand investment in Việt Nam, especially in transport infrastructure, science, water resources management, sustainable agricultural development, urban planning and climate change response.

He made the call during a reception in Hà Nội yesterday for Governor of Utah Gary Herbert, who is visiting Việt Nam from August 29 to September 3. 

The host said the Vietnamese government is determined to carry out comprehensive reforms, with a focus on sustainable economic development, building a facilitating, transparent and action-oriented cabinet, and ensuring the interests of investors. 

Governor Herbert, for his part, affirmed that Utah push forward the friendship and and co-operation with Việt Nam, contributing to the bilateral ties. 

On the occasion, the US delegation met Secretary of the Hà Nội Party Committee Hoàng Trung Hải, Chairman of the Hà Nội People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Chung, Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong, leaders of the ministries of industry and trade, science and technology, and businesses from the two cities. — VNS
