HÀ NỘI Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela and Grenada Vũ Trung Mỹ has noted Việt Nam seeks stronger ties with Grenada’s desire to further promote and deepen its relationship with Grenada in the time ahead.
Presenting his credentials to Governor-General of Grenada Dame Cecile La Grenade on August 5, Mỹ reaffirmed Việt Nam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, development, and diversification and multilateralisation of external relations.
Governor-General La Grenade expressed her admiration for Việt Nam’s past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as the country’s notable achievements in the renewal process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Việt Nam.
She congratulated Mỹ on his appointment as Vietnamese Ambassador to Grenada and expressed confidence that, with his experience, he will make significant contributions to enhancing bilateral relations in the coming years.
On this occasion, Governor-General La Grenade extended her thanks to State President Lương Cường for the invitation to attend the official signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, to be held in Hà Nội on October 25–26. She confirmed that Grenada will send a representative to the event.
For his part, Ambassador Mỹ pledged to continue efforts to advance friendship and cooperation across all fields between the two countries.
During his time in Grenada, the ambassador also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, who is also the leader of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). At the meeting, both sides agreed to foster friendship and cooperation between the two ruling parties, creating a solid political foundation for further strengthening bilateral ties across various areas.
Earlier, he had a meeting with Joseph Andall, Grenada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development. VNA/VNS
