HÀ NỘI — Over the past six months, the National Assembly (NA) has made progress in implementing a digital parliament model and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its operations, achieving encouraging initial results, said NA Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn while chairing a conference on the topic in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

The top legislator noted that, in line with the Politburo’s Resolution No 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, the NA had issued Resolution 193/2025/QH15, piloting a number of special mechanisms and policies to drive such breakthroughs.

He added that the Law on Science, Technology, and Innovation is expected to be passed in the near future.

Mẫn highlighted that in recent years, the NA has utilised tablets to provide session documents to deputies, reducing reliance on printed materials.

At its ongoing 9th session, the new National Assembly App 2.0 has been introduced. He also commended Viettel Group for its investment in equipment and personnel serving the app.

Deputies use tablets provided by the legislative body at the National Assembly Hall.

He urged deputies to make greater use of technology and AI in their work, to actively improve digital skills, and to adopt new methods of working. The leader also requested the NA Office to prioritise the digitalisation of archived paper records to build a comprehensive data system.

The leader expressed confidence that the NA will soon apply AI and digital transformation more broadly, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of its legislative, supreme supervision, and decision-making functions on critical national matters.

During the conference, participants watched a video on the implementation outcomes of the NA’s digital transformation project and listened to expert insights on building a sovereign AI ecosystem for Việt Nam. — VNA/VNS
