HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam and Venezuela hold huge potential to expand their trade and investment collaboration, experts said at an international forum held by the Việt Nam Institute of Americas Studies (VIAS) under the Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences in Hanoi on August 29.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyễn Cao Đức, Deputy Director in charge of the VIAS, stressed that although various achievements have been recorded in the bilateral cooperation, the economic and trade ties between the two countries still lag behind their potential and strengths.
Đức expressed his hope that the two sides will continue efforts to bolster collaboration in various areas so as to strengthen the bilateral relations, highlighting on the basis of the current cooperation, Việt Nam and Venezuela will reap further achievements in the coming time.
Meanwhile, Nguyễn Năng Khiếu, Deputy Director General of the Americas Department under the Việt Nam Union of Friendship Associations, underscored that the bilateral ties boast great potential to further develop, particularly in the domains of agriculture, oil and gas, and telecommunications.
He said joint efforts and close cooperation between the two sides could create new opportunities to bolster investment and two-way trade, adding Việt Nam stands ready to support and accompany Venezuelan partners.
