HÀ NỘI — NA Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn emphasised the crucial role of Party building and rectification during a seminar in Hà Nội commemorating 55 years of implementing President Hồ Chí Minh's testament.

Addressing 600 delegates, Mẫn highlighted the achievements under these principles, noting that Việt Nam has become "increasingly dignified and prosperous." He reaffirmed that President Hồ Chí Minh's teachings have guided the Party, people, and military to uphold revolutionary ideals and national solidarity.

The seminar, held at Diên Hồng Hall, was organised by the Party Committee of Central Agencies, the Office of the President, the National Assembly, the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics, and the National Political (Chính Trị Sự Thật) Publishing House.

Chairman Mẫn affirmed that President Hồ Chí Minh's thoughts and Testament have guided the nation for 55 years, ensuring the Party, people, and military remain steadfast in their revolutionary ideals.

Under the Party's leadership, national solidarity and determination enabled Việt Nam to achieve victory in the resistance against the United States, liberate the south, unify the country, and realise President Hồ Chí Minh's vision of national reunification.

During nearly 40 years of renovation, by harnessing national strength and the continuous efforts of cadres, Party members, and citizens, Việt Nam has achieved historically significant accomplishments, Mẫn said.

He also emphasised the Party's commitment to implementing President Hồ Chí Minh's teachings, prioritising Party building and rectification as essential, ongoing tasks. Mẫn highlighted the link between building a culture of integrity and fostering ethical awareness among cadres and Party members, as a means to combat corruption and negativity. He echoed the late General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng's sentiment that "honour is the most sacred and noble thing," underscoring this as a long-term solution.

The Chairman also praised recent progress in Party building within central agencies, which serve as strategic advisory bodies staffed by politically knowledgeable and expert cadres. These agencies are vital in advising and implementing the Party's guidelines and State policies.

Looking ahead, Mẫn proposed that the Party should closely follow the leadership of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat to comprehensively implement Party building. This includes upholding democratic centralism, reinforcing the leadership role of Party organisations, and focusing on political and ideological work to counter hostile arguments and protect the Party's ideological foundation.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasised the necessity of strictly implementing Central Resolutions on Party building and rectification, particularly the Central Committee's Conclusion No. 21, which focuses on accelerating these efforts and strengthening the political system. He stressed the importance of preventing and addressing any degradation in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle among cadres and Party members, as outlined in the Politburo's Conclusion No. 01, which encourages studying and following President Hồ Chí Minh's ideology, ethics, and lifestyle.

Chairman Mẫn called for a renewal in leadership methods within Party committees and organisations, urging a focus on key, breakthrough issues through specialised resolutions and effective implementation. He also advocated reviewing practical experiences and research to refine the organisational model, aiming for a more streamlined, efficient, and effective structure. Additionally, Mẫn highlighted the importance of strengthening both regular and ad hoc inspections and supervision by Party committees and inspection bodies at all levels. This includes consistently monitoring the implementation of Party resolutions, addressing strengths, correcting weaknesses, preventing violations, and decisively handling any breaches, especially at the grassroots level.

Mẫn concluded by emphasising the enduring influence of President Hồ Chí Minh's contributions to the Vietnamese revolution. He reaffirmed the Party's commitment to continuing Hồ Chí Minh's cause, defending the nation's independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and building a Việt Nam that is "wealthy, strong, democratic, just, and civilised." The entire Party, people, and military are united in their pledge to maintain Party unity and continue studying and following President Hồ Chí Minh's ideology, ethics, and style. VNS
