HÀ NỘI — General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Nguyễn Phú Trọng hailed the strong cooperation between Việt Nam’s border localities with China’s Yunnan Province during a meeting with Secretary of the Chinese province’s Party Committee Wang Ning in Hà Nội yesterday.
At the meeting, Party chief Trọng welcomed Ning's visit to Việt Nam in the context that the relations between the two parties and the two countries maintain good development momentum and have made substantial progress.
He praised the positive development of bilateral relations across many fields between the two countries.
He also expressed his delight as the provinces of Hà Giang, Lào Cai, Lai Châu and Điện Biên cooperated with Yunnan Province to successfully organise the third conference between the provincial party secretaries of the two sides and work on orientation and planning for future cooperation.
The Party leader hopes Yunnan and Việt Nam's border localities continue to promote the friendship and importance of Việt Nam-China relations, concretise the Joint Statement issued during the recent official visit to China, contributing to promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and countries.
Ning expressed his pleasure to visit Việt Nam and thanked Việt Nam’s Party chief Trọng for taking the time to receive the delegation.
He said he highly appreciated the Vietnamese leader’s opinion on cooperation orientations to enhance cooperation between border localities of the two countries.
Ning also praised the socio-economic development achievements that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Việt Nam led by Party Chief Trọng, have realised.
He expressed his delight at the good development of Việt Nam-China relations under the direction of the top leaders of the two parties.
He noted that the relations between Yunnan and Việt Nam's border provinces had made substantial progress, and exchange mechanisms have been maintained regularly and effectively.
He said that Yunnan Province would continue to work closely with Vietnamese localities to strengthen friendly exchanges between all levels and branches; promote substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides, especially in economy-trade, agriculture and tourism managing the border between the two countries. — VNS
