Vietnam News Agency correspondent in New York has spoken with Ambassador Đặng Đình Quý, head of Việt Nam’s delegation to the United Nations, on the two years the country has served as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Tất Thành Cang, former vice secretary of HCM City’s Party Committee, is facing a potential jail term of 12 to 14 years for "violating regulations on the management and use of State assets, causing losses and wastefulness”, should he be found guilty.

Police in the northern province of Thái Nguyên have launched criminal proceedings against Phan Mạnh Cường, Secretary of Thái Nguyên City Party Committee and former head of the management board of the provincial industrial parks, for “negligence, causing damage to the State assets” in line with Article 179, Penal Code 2015.
