New Global MBA
programme offers transformational learning experience that will develop skills
and knowledge into world-class business acumen
SINGAPORE - Media OutReach - 16 August 2018 - The University of London (UOL) launches
its Global Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme delivered by Amity
Global Institute in Singapore this evening, 16th August at the Empire
Sky Lounge of Fifty Raffles Place. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour Acting
High Commissioner, Mrs Alexandra McKenzie. Academic direction for the MBA is
provided by Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), an institution that prioritises the integration of its teaching and
research.
This
diverse MBA programme offers five specialist areas: accountancy, entrepreneurship & innovation, finance, law, and
leadership. Students undertaking face-to-face tutor support at Amity Global
Institute can also choose to work towards a specialist MBA, which will be an
attractive asset for career advancement across key sectors. Students will gain
access to learning resources and study guides for each module via UOL's Virtual
Learning Environment. Tutors introduce the modules,
provide guidance on assessments, respond to queries, monitor discussions and
provide interventions at key points of study.
Dr Dimitrios Koufopolous, Global MBA
Programme Director, University of London said of the new programme, "We are happy to be
launching this new programme in Singapore in collaboration with Amity Global
Institute. Our students based in Singapore will gain a prestigious
qualification by becoming part of our global network of influential individuals
and can look forward to joining our community of approximately 60,000 alumni in
Singapore upon graduation.
"It is with great honour that we are working with
the University of London to deliver this Global MBA programme in Singapore.
Forging a relationship with them aligns our mission and vision together as the
institution that promotes a holistic educational experience for all students. We
look forward to welcoming our first batch of students this October," commented Dr Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity
Global Institute.
Support
for the Development of Women Leadership Roles
2018 marks 150 years since the
University of London introduced its 'Special Examinations for Women', which ten
years later, in 1878, led to the opening up of full degrees for women. The
University of London was the first in the UK to do so in both instances.
To celebrate these
trailblazing achievements as part of the University of
London's Leading Women campaign, the university is offering 150 scholarships to women from
anywhere in the world who wish to study the Global MBA by distance learning.
The scholarship covers 40% off all fees payable for the Global MBA, to the
University of London.
Speaking at the launch event, Acting High Commissioner of the British
High Commission, Mrs Alexandra McKenzie said, "I am delighted to witness
the launch of UOL's new Global MBA programme this evening. The UK government is
absolutely committed to achieving gender equality at home and worldwide, and
creating education opportunities for women and girls. This is not only the
right thing to do, it's the only way to ensure economic development, and create
stable, prosperous societies."
The Global MBA programme is also
accredited by Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Chartered
Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Students
will have the chance to gain Chartered Manager status, and emerge with
qualifications that are highly valued by employers.
