HCM CITY  The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre and the Indonesia-based Selasar Sunaryo Art Space will host an online symposium “The Gathers” on Zoom on May 28-30.

The three-day event will introduce interdisciplinary perspectives from the project “Of Hunters and Gatherers” curated by artists from Pollination, a programme initiated by The Factory in 2018.

The artists spent a year on field trips to Mount Merapi in Indonesia, and the Lower Mekong between Thailand and Laos to learn about local environmental degradation and ecological survival.

The symposium will feature artists, historians, filmmakers, curators, writers and social scientists from Việt Nam, Indonesia, Thailand and India who will share their works and opinions on the project and environmental issues.
