HCM CITY — The Cửu Long (Mekong) River Delta region and its farmers are featured in a new painting exhibition at the HCM City Association of Fine Arts.
The event, Sông Nước Miền Tây (Rivers of Cửu Long Region), displays 68 watercolour works by artist Nguyễn Hồng Quân.
The artworks feature the culture and lifestyle of southern people. Rivers, villages, rice fields, floating markets, traditional festivals, women and children are highlighted.
Quân spent several months capturing images of daily life of local farmers. He uses vivid colours such as blue, red and orange-yellow to highlight the beauty of the Cửu Long region.
The exhibition is open from 9am to 6pm from Tuesday to Sunday at 218 Pasteur Street in District 1. It closes on Wednesday. — VNS
