HÀ NỘI — The Say No To Plastic Waste contest aims to raise awareness about the use of plastic and the impact of plastic waste on economic development and especially the environment.

“The contest does not only raises awareness about plastic waste but also encourages people to have ideas to limit plastic bag use,” said Đồng Xuân Thu, the magazine’s editor-in-chief. “We hope the contest will be a chance to connect idea makers with enterprises to create environmentally friendly products to replace plastics.”

The contest has no age limit for all people including overseas Vietnamese. There are three categories – idea, model and product.

All the entries can be sent by post to the magazine office at Room Number 1802A, M3M4 Building, 91 Nguyễn Chí Thanh Street, Hà Nội and the office’s branches in Vĩnh Phúc; Nghệ An; Gia Lai; Đà Nẵng and HCM City.

Idea entries can be sent by email to bandientu.mtdt@gmail.com or honganh.moitruongdothi@gmail.com.

The organisation will accept entries until February 15, 2020. First, second and third place certificates for each category will be awarded on World Environment Day on June 5, 2020.

The magazine has organised a few contests focused on the environment such as a painting contest and a photo contest.

“Hopefully this writing contest will get good ideas, models and products to limit plastic waste," Thụ said. — VNS
