HCM CITY— A concert featuring two famous artists from Hong Kong will take place at the Soul Live Complex in HCM City next week.

The event, La Vie en Rose: The Allure of the Tango, will include performances from saxophonist Timothy Sun and pianist Jacqueline Leung.

Pianist Leung has performed in festivals, concerto premieres, recitals and lecture tours in South and Central America, the US, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Her music has passion and finesse.

Leung has worked with distinguished musicians, including Robert Aitken, Andras Adorjan, Jasmine Choi, Iestyn Davies and Trey Lee.

She also works as a music teacher, workshop leader and adjudicator.

Sun, a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD) in London, is one of the most talented saxophonists in Hong Kong and Macau.

In 2001, he became the first Chinese saxophonist and clarinettist to win a full GDMD scholarship. He got his master’s degree in 2006.

As an orchestral musician, Sun is a freelance saxophonist with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Macao Orchestra.

He is a member of the Macao Youth Symphonic Band and Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Both artists performed the concert, La Vie en Rose: The Allure of the Tango, in Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore in 2011 and 2012.

The concert will begin at 8pm on December 14 at 216 Pasteur Street in District 3. — VNS
