HÀ NỘI — Miss Vietnam Heritage Global 2018 is inviting Vietnamese women and those with Vietnamese roots living across the world to enter the pageant.

Unlike the debut season in 2016, this year’s pageant will be held as a TV reality contest with several episodes. Each episode will feature different challenges for contestants.

“All the episodes will connect to each other in promoting the image of modern Vietnamese women, who have inherited traditional values from Vietnamese culture, and at the same time, are smart, confident and dynamic,” said Trang Lê, general director of Multimedia JSC, who is the programme’s producer.

“Furthermore, because the pageant will take place at different FLC properties located on Việt Nam’s beautiful coast, TV audiences can also enjoy the natural landscape of those places, and of Vietnamese nature in general,” Trang said.

FLC Group’s Vice President Hương Trần Kiều Dung, also the pageant’s head of organising board, said the contest aims to honour the beauty, intelligence and integration ability of Vietnamese young women.

“The contest is also a great opportunity to introduce to international friends a beautiful Việt Nam, which is a must-see country and a memorable destination,” she said.

Alongside the selections which are taking place in Hà Nội and HCM City from now until September 16, the contest also has selections in Germany, Australia and the US, places with large Vietnamese communities. The semi-finals will be held on October 12 at the FLC Sầm Sơn Beach & Golf Resort and on October 23 at the FLC Quy Nhơn Beach & Golf Resort.

Judges include Miss Asia USA 2006 Jennifer Phạm, director of the Việt Nam National Opera and Ballet, choreographer Trần Ly Ly and Vietnamese-American fashion designer Cory Trần.

The finale is scheduled to be held in the beginning of next year at the FLC Hạ Long Bay Golf & Resort. Alongside a crown, the winner will be given a VNĐ2 billion (US$88,000) prize, including VNĐ500 million ($22,000) in cash and other gifts.
