HCM CITY — HCM City General Publishing House on Saturday launched the 11th Book Week to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The Book Week is hosted at three areas, including General Publishing House’s bookstore No 1 on District 1’s Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai Street, General Publishing House’s bookstore No 2 on District 4’s Nguyễn Tất Thành Street and booth M01 on District 1’s Nguyễn Văn Bình Book Street.

Twenty-nine new book titles from writers such as Phạm Phương Thảo, Nguyễn Đình Tư, An Chi, Huỳnh Ngọc Trảng and Nguyễn Thị Hậu will be introduced during the Book Week.

Two titles have been published just in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution (1907 – 1917).

According to the organisers, a discount is applied to both hard copies and e-books in an effort to encourage more people to read.

In addition to displaying books, two meetings with writers Nguyễn Đình Tư and Nguyễn Thị Hậu will be held.

The event welcomes visitors until October 28. — VNS
