HÀ NỘI — Young talented Vietnamese violinist Đỗ Phương Nhi, who is also the music ambassador of the Valdres Summer Festival in Norway, will perform at L’Espace, the French Culture Centre in Hà Nội on July 13.

Together with pianist Trần Thái Linh, Nhi will perform the classic masterpieces of Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolo Paganini, Johannes Brahms, Fritz Kreisler and César Franck.

Born in 1998 into a musical family, Nhi began to study violin at the age of four with Merited Artist Ngô Văn Thành. She displayed a special passion for music since an early age. At 11, she made her solo debut with the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor with the Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra at the Hanoi Opera House.

She is currently studying at the Barratt-Due institute of Music in Oslo.

Nhi performed successfully at the Toyota Concert Tour 2011 and 2013, accompanied by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Tetsuji-Honna.

In 2015, she won first prize at the “Sparre Olsen” competition for young talent in Gjøvik, Norway. She has become the music ambassador of the Valdres Summer Festival in Norway.

As an active soloist, Nhi has also played with a number of domestic and overseas orchestras, including Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra and the Ha Noi Strings Chamber Orchestra.
