CALIFORNIA — Vietnamese Britney Châu Nguyễn won Mrs Asia USA International 2016, which was held at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Centre in California last Saturday.

Britney Châu Nguyễn triumphed over 57 other candidates from different countries in Asia and won the vote of the judges with her traditional customs, evening gowns and ensemble.

Founded in 1987, the pageant helps improve leadership skills, promotes personal and professional growth, enhances social skills, confidence and stage presence, and strengthens cultural values and camaraderie. The title is awarded to a candidate who is beautiful, kind and active in social matters.

As Mrs Asia USA 2014 and the only Vietnamese in the jury, Sonya Sương Đặng crowned Britney Châu Nguyễn.

Britney Châu Nguyễn is a Vietnamese American who is currently living and working in Florida. She was the fourth runner-up of Mrs Vietnam World in August, which gave her the experience and confidence to enter Mrs Asia USA International 2016.

She said she would now devote more time on community activities to promote Việt Nam’s culture abroad. — VNS
