HCM CITY— The Sài Gòn Philharmonic Orchestra will stage a concert in HCM City this weekend to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the HCM City Music Conservatory.
Wind Music from around the World will also feature guest artists from the University of Washington in the US and Sài Gòn Wind Ensemble.
Popular pieces by European and American composers from various periods will be performed.
Music composed by John Williams for the Star Wars movies, the blockbuster Hollywood franchise, released between 1977 and 2015 will also feature.
The soundtracks were first performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and are among the most widely known and popular of all modern film music.
The pieces will be performed by the Sài Gòn Wind Ensemble under the baton of Danh Phạm.
The concert will begin at 8pm on May 27 at the Music Conservatory, 112 Nguyễn Du Street, District 1.— VNS
