ĐÀ NẴNG – Flight passengers at the Đà Nẵng International Airport in Đà Nẵng City will have chance to enjoy art performances presenting Vietnamese culture.

The performances are result of a collaboration between the Đà Nẵng International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) and the Đà Nẵng College of Culture and Arts, aiming to further develop the art programme Heritage Road held at the international departure terminal T2.

Passengers will have a chance to enjoy performances imbued with local culture such as the dance Lotus Scent and the traditional musical instrument ensemble.

Debuting in December 2022, the Heritage Road programme has become a cultural highlight at Terminal T2 and has featured over 330 special art performances from Thursday to Sunday each week.

The programme has showcased historical and regional art forms such as tuồng (classical drama), nhã nhạc Huế (Huế court music), chầu văn (ritual singing) and traditional musical instrument performances. Receiving favourable reviews from many international tourists, the 'Heritage Road' programme has created a vibrant cultural exchange space at the airport.

To build on this success, AHT has partnered with the Đà Nẵng College of Culture and Arts to bring in new performances. New additions to the programme include the lantern dance Đêm Hội Phố Hoài (Hoài Street Festival Night), the Arirang monochord and the Apsara dance Lung Linh Tháp Cổ (Sparkling Ancient Tower).

The performances are staged between 10pm to 11pm every day.

A representative of the Đà Nẵng College of Culture and Arts said that through the programme, the college hopes to spread the beauty of Vietnamese culture to international friends, at the same time to create conditions for students to have life experience on their artistic development. Taking part in the programme will contribute significantly to the development of their future careers.

According to AHT Deputy General Direcrtor Đỗ Trọng Hậu, the cooperation with the Đà Nẵng College of Culture and Arts contributes to diversifying the artistic performances of the Heritage Road, creating opportunities for students to develop performance skills and interact with foreign tourists.

“The programme will contribute significantly to preserving and further promoting local culture to international visitors,” he said.

The organisers hope that the arts programme will offer visitors meaningful experiences before their flights, contributing to affirming the image of Đà Nẵng as an attractive and unique tourist destination.

After continuous efforts to improve facilities and enhance passenger experiences, including the Heritage Road programme, on January 1, 2024, Đà Nẵng International Terminal became the first and only terminal in Việt Nam to be rated five stars by Skytrax (ratings are based on evaluation of product and service standards across the onboard and airport environments).

As of 2023, only 19 airports and three airport terminals in the world have been rated five stars by Skytrax. VNS
