HCM CITY — Nearly 2,000 school students in HCM City are taking part in the 2022-2023 Vovinam Việt Võ Đạo Nestlé MILO Cup being held at Phú Thọ Stadium in District 11 from March 18 to 21.
“Thanks to the attention and support from parents, this traditional martial art is attracting more and more children to practice and compete. In addition to bringing health benefits, Vovinam also helps children have a positive spirit and enthusiasm in both learning and physical training,” said Nguyễn Bình Định, vice president and general secretary of the HCM City Vovinam Việt Võ Đạo Federation.
Organised by the Departments of Culture and Sports, and Education and Training, the federation and Nestlé MILO, the tournament is among a series of activities under the ‘Active Vietnam’ programme that aims to encourage a dynamic lifestyle and physical activity in the community, especially among children.
This year also marks the sixth year that the Nestlé MILO brand accompanies the tournament.
Trần Thị Chính, head of Marketing Services at Nestlé Vietnam Company, said by joining hands with the Vovinam Federation, Nestlé MILO expects to bring the sport closer to the young Vietnamese generation to inspire more students to practise it to improve their physical health and hone perseverance, an essential quality for success in life.
