Kids Vietnam (Kids in Difficult Situations in Vietnam), a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the lives of underprivileged children, will stage The Dreams musical at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) on August 4.

A thematic exhibition entitled Đi Qua Cuộc Chiến (Going through the Wars) is being held at the capital’s Hồ Chí Minh Museum on the occasion of the 70^th  National Anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day on July 27.

Fifteen rock bands from ASEAN countries as well as Japan will play at Việt Nam’s biggest rock concert, the SoundSlam Festival 2017, in HCM City on August 5.

HCM City’s Youth Union and Youth Cultural House have launched a new music programme at schools, universities, industrial parks and export processing zones to mark the 70^th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27.  

Thousands gathered at central Quảng Trị Citadel last week for a mass ceremony to pray for fallen soldiers of summer 1972 historic battle for the citadel. The battle, which raged on for 81 days, went down as one of the bloodiest battles in Vietnamese history with casualties from both sides estimated to total nearly 20,000.
