HÀ NỘI — FPT Corporation targets to have 10,000 software engineers working in the central city of Đà Nẵng by 2023, making the city a centre of digital human resources.

The statement was made by FPT Vice Chairman Bùi Quang Ngọc at a meeting with Đà Nẵng’s leaders in the locality on Friday.

Đà Nẵng is currently one of the three most important human resource centres for FPT, with more than 3,000 software engineers, accounting for 20 per cent of FPT's total employees working in software production, achieving an average human resource growth rate of 40 per cent per year.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Party Committee of Đà Nẵng City Trương Quang Nghĩa said Đà Nẵng has high demand for human resources. FPT’s focus on investment in software exports and education for high quality human resources is in line with the development orientation of the city.

Đà Nẵng expects that FPT will continue to accompany the city in building high quality human resources, quickly sharing experiences and proposing the development of IT systems for transportation and healthcare in order to turn Đà Nẵng into a smart city, Nghĩa added.

In the next three to five years, FPT plans to invest about VNĐ2.6 trillion (US$111.59 million) in facilities for software export, education and training, and telecommunications.

Besides focusing on investment in resources, FPT will also expand investment in infrastructure development in Đà Nẵng City. In the 2019-21 period, FPT plans to continue investing nearly VNĐ1.2 trillion for the synchronous infrastructure of FPT City Urban Area. — VNS
