PHÚ YÊN — The Hòa Hội solar power plant officially opened in the central coastal province of Phú Yên on Tuesday.
The plant, a joint venture between the Trường Thành Việt Nam Group JSC and Thailand’s B Grimm Power Pcl, has total investment of over VNĐ4.9 trillion (US$210.7 million) funded by the Phú Yên TTP JSC.
This was the biggest renewable energy project in the central region, said Đặng Trung Kiên, chairman of the Phú Yên TTP JSC, adding that the plant was expected to help boost socio-economic development, ensuring national energy security and generating jobs for local labourers.
Construction of the 265ha plant with a capacity of 257MWP started in November 2018.
Trần Hữu Thế, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, urged the investor to run the project effectively, abide by environmental regulations and pay attention to social welfare.
Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has also designated the plant as a key project in Phú Yên’s socio-economic development master plan until 2020. — VNS
