HÀ NỘI — Hà Nam Province People’s Committee on Wednesday granted investment licences for two projects, worth a total of US$52 million.

The licences went to an infrastructure construction project for Thanh Liêm Industrial Zone’s second phase run by Capella Land Joint Stock Company and a carbon fiber production plant project of Japan’ Teijin Group.

The Capella project will develop infrastructure for Thanh Liêm Industrial Zone over an area of 143 hectares with total investment of nearly VNĐ950 billion (US$40 million).

Teijin’s plant will have total investment of $12 million to produce carbon fiber used in the aerospace, automobile, plastics and medical industries.

Chairman of Hà Nam Province People’s Committee Nguyễn Xuân Đông asked agencies to provide support in terms of procedures and land clearance to ensure the implementation of the projects.

Hà Nam is working to develop its infrastructure system and hasten administrative reforms to improve its investment climate and attract investors, Đông said.

As of May, the northern province had granted licences for 40 projects with total registered capital of $350 million, 16 of which were foreign-invested.

Hà Nam has 887 projects, including 260 foreign-invested, with total registered capital of around $7.7 billion.  VNS
