HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Việt Nam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) and Amazon Global Selling announced a plan on Thursday to help Vietnamese businesses boost exports and develop brands through e-commerce.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietrade director Vũ Bá Phú said the two sides had decided to set up a long-term partnership with an array of activities.
They will work on programmes on global exports and brand name development via e-commerce as well as e-commerce training for local enterprises.
Under the global export programme, Vietnamese products will be marketed on the Amazon e-commerce sales platform.
Vietrade and Amazon Global Selling also announced the first 100 small- and medium-sized enterprises selected to receive training and consultancy in the US in this June.
These firms will be guided through how to open accounts, complete export procedures, transport goods and promote their products on the platform.
The most successful firms of the first batch will join a trade promotion delegation to the US in October, during which they will have the chance to participate in many trade promotion activities and engage in exchanges with businesses from big US cities. — VNS
