HÀ NỘI — Choi Joo Ho was officially appointed as general director of Samsung Việt Nam to replace Shim Won Hwan who returned to South Korea to take over new responsibilities.
Samsung Việt Nam on Friday announced appointments of new high-ranking leaders in Việt Nam.
Ho joined Samsung Group in 1989 and held different positions including Deputy General Director of Human Resources in the business of mobile telecommunications and wireless equipment. He has extensive experience in the field of personnel and organisational management of nine mobile phone factories of Samsung worldwide including Samsung Electronics Việt Nam Bắc Ninh (SEV) and Samsung Electronics Việt Nam Thái Nguyên (SEVT).
In Việt Nam, he will be in charge of communications, public relations, environment, health and safety (EHS), administration and human resources of Samsung Việt Nam.
Samsung also announced the appointment of Suh Kyung Wook as general director of Samsung Vina Electronics (SAVINA) to replace Kim Cheol Gi.
Wook was general director of Samsung Electronics Singapore before working in Việt Nam.
The new leaders would continue to maintain Samsung Việt Nam’s achievements while committing to closely co-operate with business partners to bring the best products and experiences to Vietnamese users.
Samsung Việt Nam has total investment of over US$17.3 billion in Việt Nam and employs 160,000 labourers. Its member companies in Việt Nam include SEV, SEVT, Samsung Việt Nam Mobile R&D Center (SVMC), SAVINA and Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex (SEHC), Samsung Display Việt Nam (SDV), Samsung SDI Việt Nam (SDIV) and Samsung Electro-Mechanics Việt Nam (SEMV). — VNS
