HCM CITY — The recently concluded METALEX Vietnam received more than 18,840 manufacturing businesspeople who came to source new technologies and seek business opportunities.
At the exhibition, visitors had a chance to speak with representatives of more than 500 brands around the world.
Suttisak Wilanan, deputy managing director for Reed Tradex, the organiser, said: “After three informative trade fair days, the international metalworking trade exhibition, METALEX Vietnam 2018, reported 18,848 total attendants, which represents a promising sign of progress towards sustainable development of supporting industries in Việt Nam.
“More and more trade visitors are coming from abroad (42 countries). Apart from locals, visitors predominantly came from Japan, China, Singapore, Korea and Thailand.”
Exhibitors achieved their goals of gaining brand awareness and increasing sales leads, while visitors discovered technologies and solutions, as well as new know-how through thought-provoking seminars that could pave the way for business opportunities.
Kazuya Yoshimura, general director of Takamatsu Machinery Vietnam Co., Ltd, said by joining the exhibition, his company wanted to present its Japanese technologies and machinery to potential customers.
“The show was a huge success, which allowed us to achieve our business goals,” he said.
Đặng Xuân Kiên, assistant technical manager of Hoffman Group, said: “METALEX Vietnam brought many advantages and opportunities to our group. We were able to reach more potential suppliers and customers as well as enhance our brand reputation, supporting our success in the future.”
Nguyễn Bích Phương, sale administrator of Schunk Intec Limited Company, said: “We chose to join METALEX Vietnam to mainly improve our reputation and enhance our brand awareness in Việt Nam. The development of robots and cars is increasingly significant for the future of Việt Nam. Hence, we are here to support these industrial sectors."
Nopporn Insuk, Regional Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, which has taken part in METALEX Vietnam many times, said that manufacturing in Việt Nam continued to develop strongly.
"Many countries are confident in expanding their investments here. Our company supports smart factories, which I hope will help our business to grow in this potential market.”
A representative from a local firm, Nguyễn Giang Hải, CEO of Nguyen Viet Power JSC., said that returning to visit METALEX Vietnam, "I found a supplier of solutions for our company. The exhibition improves each year with bigger and richer content within the show.”
The annual expo was held concurrently with four others, Nepcon Vietnam, Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam, Supporting Industry Show, and ROBOT X HCMC, from October 11 to 13 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The powerful combination of five shows provided the full spectrum of machine tools and solutions ranging from machining centres, EDM machines, sheet metalworking, welding technology, metrology and many more.
Next year, METALEX Vietnam will be held from October 10 to 12 at same site. — VNS
