Quảng Bình to hold investment conference

QUẢNG BÌNH – The central province of Quảng Bình will hold an investment conference on August 26 and 27 at the Sun Spa Resort in Đồng Hới City.

Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc will attend and chair the conference that is expected to attract more than 500 participants, according to the provincial People’s Committee.

The province plans to issue investment certificates and sign cooperation agreements for 66 projects with total capital of VNĐ162.25 trillion (US$7.05 billion).

Investment certificates will be issued for 36 projects run by 23 investors with total investment capital of over VNĐ29.7 trillion. At the same time, investment cooperation agreements for 30 projects will be signed with 24 investors with total investment of VNĐ132.5 trillion. The projects will focus on tourism, industry, agriculture and infrastructure development.

Đinh Hữu Thành, director of the provincial Planning and Investment Department, said the conference would introduce the area’s investment potential and opportunities, as well as investment promotions in the province.

This event would include meetings between provincial authorities and enterprises to facilitate investment and business cooperation in the province, he said.

At the press conference, representatives of provincial authorities and departments talked about the advantages and disadvantages of investment promotions in Quảng Bình, and key areas that needed investment.

Vice chairman of Quảng Bình People’s Committee Trần Tiến Dũng said the province would create favorable conditions for investors to conduct efficient and sustainable development.

The provincial People’s Committee has also held an investment promotion conference in the Philippines, a meeting for potential investors in Hà Nội and an investment promotion conference in Singapore. - VNS
