BÌNH DƯƠNG – The VNTT Company and NTT Việt Nam Corporation signed a business cooperation contract on June 19 to work together in building a smart city in Việt Nam.
Southern Bình Dương Province-based VNTT, founded in 2008, is a subordinate business of the Becamex IDC Corp. and currently owns one of the three most modern and biggest data centres in Việt Nam.

Meanwhile, NTT Việt Nam Corporation is an affiliate company of the NTT Group of Japan, a leading telecommunications and IT company in Japan.
The newly-signed contract covers business cooperation in building, developing, and operating cloud Wi-Fi networks and cloud-based value added services.
The agreement is based on a memorandum of understanding signed by Becamex IDC and the NTT Group with the aim of collaborating to study the feasibility of developing smart cities in Việt Nam, especially in Bình Dương New City.
After the project is carried out, the two sides will continue through a Smart Education model pilot project in Bình Dương Province.

The Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Trần Thanh Liêm, said at the contract signing that the agreement is part of efforts to implement the province’s smart city building plan.
The contract also affects fields that Bình Dương is interested in and wants to develop to meet demand from the general public, businesses, and investors, he said.
Liêm asked Becamex IDC and the NTT Group to promote their affiliates’ efforts to carry out the contract. He also requested local authorities to support VNTT and NTT Việt Nam in implementing the agreement. – VNS
