HCM CITY — The top 30 inbound tour operators in HCM City yesterday signed an agreement with the Tourism Promotion Centre and the Việt Nam Tourism Dentistry JSC to develop dentour services in the city.

The Việt Nam Tourism Dentistry JSC partnered with 27 dental clinics in HCM City, Hà Nội and Vĩnh Long Province to offer combined dental-tourism services, Soline Linh Lê, its project manager, said.

It planned to expand to 50 clinics this year and treat 1,500 tourists, she said.

The company has launched several dentour packages with tours to the Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta, Mũi Né and Nha Trang as well as northern provinces.

Nguyễn Đức Minh, director of the HCM City Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology and deputy chairman of the HCM City Odonto Stomatology Association said the dental services woud be offered at hospitals and clinics with modern facilities and experienced and internationally qualified dentists who provide quick and quality services at reasonable prices.

With support from the city Departments of Tourism and Health, the dentour group hopes to promote the country as being on a par with developed countries in dentistry, according to Minh.

Dental tourism as part of medical tourism is one of the products the tourism department is focusing on this year. —VNS
