HCM CITY – Members of 21 APEC economies yesterday discussed measures to enhance supply chain connectivity at the 7th meeting of the APEC Alliance for Supply Chain (A2C2) group.
The meeting was held in HCM City within the framework of the third Senior Officials Meeting (SOM 3) and related meetings.
Discussion centred on the progress of APEC supply-chain capacity-building projects in Malaysia, Việt Nam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand, and a presentation about the Supply Chain Connectivity Framework Action Plan 2.
Proposals for new activities, including funding from an APEC supply-chain sub-fund, as well as enhanced collaboration among APEC economies and the next steps for 2018 were also featured.
Ken Schagrin, the US deputy assistant Trade Representative for APEC affairs, said the A2C2 group was established in 2014 with an aim to encourage better trade facilitation between companies and associations in the public and private sectors within APEC.
