HCM CITY— More than 600 international cosmetics brands will make their debut in Việt Nam during the Mekong Beauty Show 2017 in HCM City from June 15 to 17.

Taking place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre, the expo is expected to be an exciting show for the four emerging Mekong countries, Việt Nam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, said Nguyễn Văn Minh, deputy chairman of the Vietnam Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics Association.

Việt Nam is an emerging market in the consumer beauty and personal care products, with annual growth of 30 per cent in the last few years, Minh said at a press meeting held on Thursday (June 8) in HCM City.

The Mekong Beauty Show will offer a comprehensive business platform for industry players in the entire supply chain covering beauty and cosmetics, hair and nails, herbal and health, and OEM and packaging, said Selena Li, event director of Informa Exhibitions.

Around 200 buyers from Việt Nam, Cambodia, Thailand and other countries in the Mekong region who are mainly importers and distributors will meet with international exhibitors and discuss how to bring these brands into the Mekong beauty market, she said.

The Vietnam Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Association will organise a seminar on the first day of the event with topics including the Vietnamese cosmetics market, exploiting and using medicinal materials for cosmetics in Việt Nam, and achievements in the field of essential oils and aromatherapy from natural materials.

An onsite workshop on June 16 will gather top retailers and distributors to discuss building a mutually collaborative relationship between beauty brands and conventional and online retailers, Việt Nam’s market landscape and trade channels coupled with key consumer trends.

A delegation of 300 brands from South Korea will showcase K-beauty in the exhibition.

KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition & Convention Center) will bring in famous fitness models from Korea to perform and showcase authentic K-beauty both in fashion, lifestyle and beauty.

Owning strong brand names such as Miss Saigon and Miss Vietnam perfumes, Saigon Cosmetics Corporation (SCC) will unveil The Essence, its latest and most precious perfume, by launching it exclusively for the Mekong Beauty Show Miss Saigon.
