BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — The Tân Cảng Cái Mép-Thị Vải port in the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu successfully received a 160,000-tonne container ship on Monday.

This is the second port in the Thị Vải-Cái Mép port complex receiving a 160,000-tonne ship.

Earlier, Cái Mép International Terminal (CMIT) welcomed ships with the capacity of 160,000 tonnes and over.

The Tân Cảng Cái Mép-Thị Vải is a deep-water port in Tân Thành District. It is allowed to receive ships of 160,000 weight starting from February 20 by the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

Vũ Kim Duẩn, director of the port, said that the first welcome for a 160,000-tonne ship showed the port’s capacity to receive and provide loading and unloading services for international container ships. — VNS
