HÀ NỘI — A joint venture between Vietnamese industrial infrastructure developer Hưng Yên Group and Malaysia’s JLand Group has proposed working with Hà Nội to develop a large high-tech innovation and data centre complex in the capital city.
The project is expected to have a preliminary total investment of approximately US$5 billion and would be carried out under a green, smart and sustainable model, aiming to attract strategic investors and high-quality secondary investors.
At a meeting on the proposal, Vice Chairman of the Hà Nội People's Committee Trương Việt Dũng mentioned Hà Nội's current advantages for developing high-tech projects, innovation centres and data centres, with the Hòa Lạc High-Tech Park being a prominent asset.
Hà Nội is currently restructuring this high-tech park, with the aim of developing it into a major urban centre for technology.
Now is a crucial time to develop innovation complexes, high performance computing and AI data centres, according to Dũng. Hà Nội is opening its doors wide and is ready to welcome investors in this field.
Based on this urgency, Dũng proposed that both sides study various cooperation models, including collaboration between the Government and investors, public-private partnerships and financial funds. The city would be ready to cooperate in developing the most suitable plan, he said.
At the meeting, representatives of the joint venture proposed that the high-tech innovation and data centre complex prioritises attracting investment in cutting-edge technology fields, such as AI and AI data centres, semiconductor chip production facilities, cloud computing, digital technology, information technology, automation, robotics, green technology, energy technology, applied research and other high-tech production.
