HÀ NỘI — Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam has announced a recall of certain Mitsubishi Xpander and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross vehicles due to a potential issue affecting the second-row seatback adjustment mechanism.
The recall programme, which has been reported to the Vietnam Register, will run from May 18, 2026 to May 18, 2029 at authourised dealers nationwide.
According to the company, some affected vehicles assembled, imported and officially distributed by Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam may have cracks in the adjustment mechanism of the second-row seatback. The defect could reduce the structural durability of the component.
The programme includes inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the seatback frame free of charge. Repair time is estimated at between 0.3 and 2.5 hours per vehicle.
The company said it had not recorded any incidents related to the issue in the Vietnamese market so far. However, it urged customers to bring affected vehicles to authourised dealers for inspection and replacement to ensure safety and comfort during use. — BIZHUB
