HÀ NỘI — Budget carrier Vietjet Air is ramping up services to meet surging holiday demand, saying it will operate nearly 3,800 flights between April 25 and May 5 during Việt Nam’s peak travel period.
Vietjet said on Wednesday it would operate nearly 3,800 flights over the period to meet rising travel demand during the Reunification Day and International Workers' Day holiday period.
The airline said the number of flights would increase by about 500, or 16 per cent, from a year earlier, while total seat capacity would reach roughly 832,000 seats, up 18 per cent year on year.
Flights will be concentrated on busy domestic routes linking major cities and tourist destinations, including Hà Nội, HCM City, Đà Nẵng and Nha Trang, as well as other popular locations such as Huế, Phú Quốc and Quy Nhơn, the airline said.
Vietjet added that it would maintain stable operations across its domestic and international network during the period, aiming to meet increased travel demand from both residents and tourists.
The carrier is also offering promotions during the holiday season, including discounts of up to 20 per cent on Deluxe fares across its network.
Việt Nam’s April 30 Reunification Day and May 1 Labour Day holidays typically mark one of the country’s busiest travel periods, with demand driven by tourism and family visits.
Passengers are advised to book tickets early and complete online check-in procedures in advance to avoid congestion at airports, the airline said.
Vietjet also noted it had recently launched new international routes connecting Việt Nam with destinations in Indonesia, Singapore and Japan, as part of efforts to expand its network and improve service capacity. — VNS
