HẢI PHÒNG — CEO Group on Thursday broke ground on the Tiên Lãng Airport Industrial Park – Zone B, known as CEOZone Hai Phong, marking one of the first projects to be rolled out within the Hải Phòng Free Trade Zone as the northern port city accelerates its push to attract high-quality investment.

Located in Chấn Hưng Commune, Hải Phòng City, the project spans 186.49 hectares with total investment of nearly VNĐ2.8 trillion (US$115 million). It is developed by CEO Industrial Park Development JSC (CEO IP) and follows a new-generation industrial park model focused on green, smart and sustainable development.

The industrial park sits along the Ninh Bình–Hưng Yên–Hải Phòng–Quảng Ninh coastal expressway, close to the Nam Đồ Sơn deep-water port and adjacent to the planned Tiên Lãng International Airport. This location offers strong multimodal connectivity, linking road, sea and future air transport networks across northern Việt Nam.

Its position entirely within the Southern Hải Phòng Economic Zone and the Hải Phòng Free Trade Zone gives CEOZone Hai Phong access to preferential mechanisms covering administration, taxation and customs, alongside policies designed to attract high-skilled workers and promote research and development. These advantages are expected to appeal to high-tech, low-emission and high value-added industries as global supply chains continue to restructure.

CEOZone Hai Phong is the first project under CEO Group’s strategy to develop between 500 and 1,000 hectares of new-generation industrial parks in the coming years.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, CEO Group Chairman Đoàn Văn Bình said: “The project is expected to attract about $1.5 billion in secondary investment and create around 20,000 jobs once fully operational, contributing to local budget revenues and the development of an integrated industrial, urban and logistics ecosystem in southern Hải Phòng.”

Vice Chairman of the Hải Phòng People’s Committee Lê Trung Kiên said the project was of major significance to the city’s industrial and logistics development strategy, affirming the local authority’s commitment to supporting investors and ensuring the project is delivered on schedule and operates effectively.

Hải Phòng is currently one of Việt Nam’s leading destinations for investment, benefiting from its role as the northern region’s main maritime gateway, synchronised infrastructure and the rare advantage of all five transport modes. The establishment of the Hải Phòng Free Trade Zone is seen as a key step in piloting a development model based on quality investment, technology and innovation aligned with international standards. — VNS
