HCM CITY — The Intelligent Technology Exhibition in Việt Nam (OCTF 2023), the first of its kind in the country, opened in HCM City on September 21, with the participation of many outstanding Chinese high-tech enterprises who seek investment opportunities in Việt Nam.

The exhibition has attracted 150 exhibitors in more than 200 booths showcasing over 2,000 technologies and products, including intelligent manufacturing technologies, new energy, new materials, consumer electronics, smart home appliances, smart lighting, and electronic equipment.

The event also features many artificial intelligence products, industrial automation equipment, security systems, safety systems, detectors, private network solutions, smart projectors, and smart kitchen appliances of exhibitors from China’s Guangdong Province.

According to a representative of Guangdong Guangzhan International Exhibition Co.,Ltd, one of the event’s organisers, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which came into force last year, has opened great opportunities for economic and trade ties between China and Việt Nam and other Southeast Asian countries.

“We have been very optimistic about the potential of the Vietnamese market since before the pandemic. This time, we bring outstanding businesses from Guangdong to study the Vietnamese market,” he said.

Many of them come to Việt Nam for the first time and attach great importance to participating in this exhibition. They have a plan in place to study and penetrate the Vietnamese market, he said.

"I and three key colleagues will stay in Việt Nam for a while to comprehensively study the market and supportive policies as we plan to build a factory and develop suitable products for the market," an executive of a Guangdong-based company said.

Lê Hoàng Tài, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, said, “the Ministry of Industry and Trade believes that the exhibition will provide practical opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to access new technologies, potential customers and sources of high-quality products, and learn and capture information to enhance investment cooperation.”

The three-day exhibition at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre is jointly organised by Overseas Chinese Think Tank, Guangdong Guangzhan International Exhibition Co, Shenzhen OCTF Investment Management Co., Ltd and Vietnam Advertisement and Fair Exhibition JSC.

OCTF is the largest intelligence and technology exhibition from China that showcases the newest products and services from industry leaders across Asia. The exhibition in Việt Nam is the third stop of the OCTF exhibition tour this year after Malaysia and Thailand. — VNS
