The world’s leading finance and banking magazine – The Banker – has honoured Vietnam International Bank (VIB) with the ‘Innovation in Digital Banking 2021’ award (Mobile). This is the 7th year in a row MyVIB has been honoured with prestigious awards by major international media agencies such as The Banker, The Asset, and Global Finance Review.

The Innovation in Digital Banking Award of The Banker honours the world's most innovative bank in digital banking and has always caught the attention of the financial community. This year, the award attracted the highest number of applications in the mobile application category, with competition from more than 1,000 candidates globally.

According to The Banker, COVID-19 has driven digital transformation in the industry, creating a leap forward with breakthrough products and services. Impressively overcoming various candidates from different continents, the MyVIB application has successfully convinced the jury and was placed in top position due to its innovative ideas that shaped new transaction behaviours in customers, and pioneering in applying future technology trends.

In 2020 and the first half of 2021, the pandemic affected and disrupted social contacts. VIB has developed new features to provide more secure and convenient transaction methods. VIB is the first bank that offers health insurance through a mobile banking application, allows users to sign up and receive a contract in a blink of an eye after registration. Electronic identification (e-KYC) solution for online payment account opening service reduces time spent and increases customers' satisfaction. VIB is also the pioneer bank to successfully apply AI and Big Data, modern technologies such as e-KYC, e-Signature in the credit card issuance and approval process. Setting new records in the market in terms of processing and approval time until the card is used on the electronic card version: only 15-30 minutes, 1/500 of the average time in the market.

In the first six months of 2021, the number of registered customers using the MyVIB mobile banking application and e-banking service – My Online Bank – increased by 154% compared to the same period last year. The number of online transactions increased by 172%. VIB is in the top banks in terms of online transactions proportion with 91% of the total number of transactions.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary (September 18, 1996 - September 18, 2021), VIB launched the Golden Birthday – Fountain of gifts programme with numerous chances for customers that make transactions during the programme to win valuable prizes.  For every five transactions valued at VND100,000 via MyVIB, customers will receive a lucky draw code. 

The attractive prizes include two Special prizes (Mercedes Benz C180AMG-2021) and 100 Lucky prizes. Lucky prizes include 25 Airpods Pro Wireless Charger, 25 Apple Watch Series 6, 25 iPhone 12 128GB, and 25 Sharp FP-JM40V-B air purifiers. 

In addition, customers who successfully make top-up transactions, bill payments (except for credit card payments and loan payments) via MyVIB in the time frame from 12:00 to 14:00 daily, will be refunded up to 50% of the transaction value, up to VND20,000/time/day. New customers that open and spend via credit cards, global payment cards (IDCs), savings, life insurance, and loans will receive attractive incentives from now until September 30, 2021.
